Alubali (“cherry” in Georgian) is an artisan cafe that offers its guests areturn to Georgian roots. “We wanted to find out how our grandparentsmade traditional dishes. That’s why we traveled to different parts ofthe country, tasted different cuisine and met the locals, especiallyolder ones. That was the generation we needed to revive our childhooddishes,” the owners say.They succeed in conjuring a nostalgic, wistful atmosphere - bringing achildhood memory of a village yard to life with tangerine and other fruittrees, simple wooden furniture, and strings of sparkly fairy lights. It isbest enjoyed in warm weather, but the winter climate is rather cozy too.The menu is everything you could want in a traditional Georgianrestaurant, with bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and an exceptionallytalented kitchen staff. Alubali is classic, homey, refined - a great spot fora night on the town with a group of friends or a long, lazy lunch toppedoff by, you guessed it, cherry cake.
